When I was a child I thought I saw an angel. It had wings and kinda looked like my sister. I opened the door so some light could come into the room, and it sort of faded away. My mother said it was probably my Guardian Angel." -Denzel Washington

I feel like this could potential be a controversial topic, so let me first say that these are my own opinions on the topics of angels, ghosts, the afterlife, etc and I do not claim any of these to be true, nor refuse to accept other people's opinions on the matter. I'm simply stating what I think would be a plausible understanding of these topics and how there is really no way to know for sure. So with that being said, let's begin.
I think the afterlife is a very complex concept. I feel like the world is just way too complicated and yet organized (if that makes sense) to have everything just go blank in the end. The world is a beautiful place and I firmly believe there is more to this world than what meets the eye. I do believe something happens to us when we die, and I also believe we will never fully understand it.
I'm not so sure about the pearly gates, clouds, and buildings made of light, because I personally don't see that kind of place as "my heaven". Personally I'm not that wowed by the concept of anywhere with gates (that can keep others out) or a light that is so blinding, there is no way to see. I think heaven is more of a feeling of peace and total joy. With that being said, I also believe everyone has their own version of heaven. There is a movie/book called "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" by Mitch Albom where a man dies and then goes through five different versions of other people's heaven in order to further understand his own version of heaven. The movie is a bit strange, but the idea is simply beautiful. I see my heaven as an amplification of all of my happiest moments combined and then shared with others around me. This is where angels are introduced into the conversation.
I do believe in angels as well as ghosts. I think they are both similar things and both very misunderstood. I like to think they are the spirits of ancestors keeping an eye on you and helping you along the way to a happy future. There have been many cases where I'm surprised I didn't hurt myself more from a fall or accident and am fully convinced my guardian angel works overtime to counter my clumsiness some days. Although they are mainly seen as protectors and guides as seen in the picture above, I also believe they can be found in others around us in our time of need. Sometimes I feel like they may also understand what needs to be done in order for you to be successful. I've mentioned 1 Corinthians 10:13 before no trial will be given to you where you cannot overcome it. I think sometimes our angels are there to guide us through challenging us as well. Sometimes the best way to sculpt an glass work of art is by putting it under some pressure and heat, why can't this be the same way for humans?
When it comes to ghosts, I think we are very good at freaking ourselves out sometimes and things don't actually happen, but I also believe maybe there is a cross over with us and the afterlife or maybe even the past of a building. Slowly but surely we are learning more and more about the world around us and I've considered the idea that if an emotion is displayed at a constant rate at one location, the pheromones dispelled will eventually collect to later affect another passer by later in time. By no means am I claiming to be a scientist in this aspect, but I know for a fact that there is so much more to this world than meet the eye. I think that is a good way to end off this post before I go any further into the topic. It is very easy to lose yourself in ideas like these! Good night all!
About the video: Although there was another video I was tempted to post for tonight, I think I will go with the easier video to explain since I'm a bit tired. I actually learned this song in sign language in middle school and can still remember some of the signs today. It's a bit of an older song (1993), but still a good message.
