Music should be something that makes you gotta move, inside or outside." -Elvis Presley

Tonight I had an amazing night out with two of my most favorite people in the whole world. I have known both of them for years and this Fall they are actually getting married. While we were out causing all sorts of trouble at the frozen yogurt shop and cosmic putt putt course, I got a chance to talk to them about their upcoming wedding and all of the tasks still needing to be finalize. In some aspects, I'm kind of glad to be one of the last in my group to get married because now I get to see a bunch of different strategies on planning a wedding before I even have to cross that bridge!
Oddly enough, when imagining my future wedding, I have mainly only focused on the reception and other fun parts. By no means am I anywhere near this stage in my life yet (dating a girl might be helpful to start with), it is still fun to imagine what it could be like. I have always enjoyed the reception part of weddings. It is just a perfect time to be with your friends and have some fun on the dance floor!
When considering my "moves", I am proud to say I easily fall under the "I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm still going to have fun with it" category. Although I would say I'm still better than the dancers in the SNL sketch (above), I still have not had the proper training when it comes to dancing with modern songs. I took cotillion as a kid and can still remember portions of formal dances, but when you start breaking some of these moves out during a hip hop song, you get some weird looks for sure! My best advice is to just have fun out there! I remember when I was a chaperon at a middle school dance and although I had no idea what I was doing nor had I heard half of the songs being played, I still danced like a fool had had a good time with. Turns out middle schoolers don't know how to dance either, so they were mocking my moves. I'm not sure if I'm the best role model when shaping the future dancers of tomorrow :) So wherever you are in the world, always remember to take some time and move with the music. It will make your dance just a tiny bit brighter!
About the video(s): I found both of these videos about a year ago and they have special meaning to me in very different ways. The first video is a tap dancing team moving to the song "Cups". I have never completely understood what is needed in order to master tap dancing, but I do know that it takes a whole lot of skill. After this video, I was just very inspired by their united movements and could easily see their joy on their faces! This video is absolutely a must see. The second video just needs to be included for anyone having a rough day. I don't know what it is, but I have never seen this video go without a grin being created. It is one of the silliest dances, but if you try to dance along, you will just feel better about yourself and might even forget your troubles for a little bit. If you enjoyed this video, there is also a sequel called "double dream feet". Both of them are just too good to pass up!
