Dear girl I saw at school,
I saw you enter, I saw you take a seat,
I saw you as a stranger that I have yet to meet.
To take a look right at you and see treasure to find,
Is like searching on a map that is buried in my mind.
I see your slimming outfit, I see your vibrant hair,
I see the polished nails, I feel your brown eyed stare.
I know you're looking through me, it's so easy to tell,
A smile lacking on your face did not show up so well.
Tomorrow is a brand new day, for this fact I am sure,
Back to the drawing board in hopes to find my cure.
So I did not mean for this poem to be depressing or sad, but I was trying to show a deeper journey when looking for a possible friend or girlfriend. It is very easy to get swept away by the material objects in today's society and almost dwell completely on them. I'll be the first to say that I do notice these things, but I also try to place other aspects at a higher level. With that being said, I don't think there is anything more attractive than a girl who knows how to express herself on the outside. This is where they know how to handle their facial expressions, are comfortable in their own skin, and know "sexy" doesn't necessary mean revealing everything, but leaving some aspects to the imagination.
My friends have always made fun of me when it comes to picking a girl based on her smile or her eyes. I always have considered your eyes to be the secret gateway to the soul. Just like the fastest way to a person's heart is through their stomach, the fastest way to a person's soul is through their eyes. In many ways it isn't even a certain eye color or shape, it is more to do with how you use them. When someone is able to smile not only with their teeth, but with their eyes as well, it really makes you feel like everything will be aright. To prove my point, I challenge you to sit in front of a mirror and try out different facial expressions and really have fun with it! What's the point of living if you can't laugh at yourself from time to time? Learn how to handle your external emotions and learn how to take your smile and bring it into your eyes as well. Light up your face with gladness, and then maybe tomorrow you will still see that your life is still worthwhile if you just smile. As a final remark, remember that you must first love yourself before you can love another. Find out what you can do on the outside to help illustrate this factor and you'll be finding the right person for you in no time!
