I believe I can soar, I see me running through that open door..." -R. Kelly

Since I got to bed around 2am last night, I'm going to try to get to the point. My room is an utter mess with boxes and piles of items, but I'm officially out of the student room and into my apartment! It is a very good feeling and you really don't realize how much stuff you have until it is all in your living room.
When it comes to the word "soar", I think it is very easy to talk about taking your dreams to new heights, to overcome boundaries and really take off from the group, but I feel like this is what I say in most of my posts anyways, so I want to go in the opposite direction for a second.
Tony Stark (Iron Man) is one of my favorite Marvel Superhero characters. Although he is very egotistical and arrogant, I like that he is brilliant and jumps before he can even walk. He is a "head in the clouds" kind of person, and in many ways I try to be as futuristic as he is on some levels (or as much as you could ever be with a fictional character). I like that he begins to think about others before himself in some cases, and is simply brilliant when soaring to new ideas and to new heights. I think one of the things that makes him the most successful is to have Pepper Pots at his side. Pepper in many ways plays the opposite role that Tony does. She is able to ground him and keep a realistic outlook on the company as well as on Tony's life. In many ways we can only be successful if there is a healthy mix between dreamers and grounders. If a group is all dreamers, nothing is ever done and new ideas just keep coming in. If a group is all grounders, it is very easy to get stuck in a certain way of doing things and never perfecting an idea. It comes in handy when people are able to work together and really see their efforts through!
Question Time: Take a second to consider what category you fit into. Are you a grounder or a floater? With a futuristic approach, creative outlook, and a maximizer mentality, I pride myself in being a very big floater!
About the video: For some reason, when I hear the word "soar" all I can think of is Space Jam and R. Kelly's famous song, "I Believe I can Fly". I guess I'm feeling a little nostalgic. Join me in this beautiful song :)
