How it will work?
The first week of every month we will be announcing which book we are reading for the upcoming month and will be also discussing the book from the previous month! Readers are encouraged to write comments on the post once they have finished reading the book.
What kind of books will we be reading?
It is our goal to encourage reading of a lot of different types of books/novels for a variety of different audiences. Although it is our goal to pick books which are relatable to many different audiences, we will also ensure there is a descriptor on the announcement which lets the reader know ahead of time if the book is targetted for Students, Student Leaders, New Professionals, Mid-Level Professionals, and/or Senior Staff. Although all books will not be exclusively intended for professionals in the Higher-ed field, we will ensure that all literature can be beneficial for individuals in the field in some form or fashion.
How can I suggest a future book to read?
We highly encourage recommendations for future readings! Feel free to send us a message on our contact us page.
What book will we be reading this month?
Creativity, Inc.: Overcoming the Unseen Forces That Stand in the Way of True Inspiration
Written by: Ed Catmull

Creativity, Inc. is a book for managers who want to lead their employees to new heights, a manual for anyone who strives for originality, and the first-ever, all-access trip into the nerve center of Pixar Animation—into the meetings, postmortems, and “Braintrust” sessions where some of the most successful films in history are made. It is, at heart, a book about how to build a creative culture—but it is also, as Pixar co-founder and president Ed Catmull writes, “an expression of the ideas that I believe make the best in us possible.”
Intended Luminstruct Audience: Mid-Level-Senior Staff
We could not be more excited about this new feature and look forward to seeing your thoughts about Creativity, Inc. at the end of the month!
